Honest and real domination and submission are a mindset. Experienced on many levels, explicit and nuanced domination and submission are the forceful taking and willing granting of power, control, and authority all at the same time. The dominant and the submissive are expressly unequal. The dynamics disallow for natural superiority in one aspect of the relationship but not in another.

There is a natural order and either you are dominant or submissive. It is unnecessary that each is overtly displayed at all times. The intensity of such relationships ebbs and flows and, while there is respect, there is no parity.

An authentic and genuine sub makes a gift of his submission. Not everyone will appreciate such a gift. A sub needs to figure out who is worthwhile and who is just taking advantage. A sub (or anyone) should respect himself enough to walk away from whatever does not benefit him, grow him, and improve him mentally, emotionally, and physically.
