On 8th May one of the founding fathers of gay fetish, Tom of Finland, celebrates 101 years since his birth. The artwork Tom created, and the fetish men he envisaged, changed the way the entire world looked upon fetish and kink. By celebrating the male form in leather, uniform, sportswear, suits, and many other forms of gear, his work has turned-on generations of guys.
Whilst the world is slowly coming back to life (in some areas quicker than others), we thought now would be the perfect time for us all to celebrate the essence of what Tom of Finland created. We want to show our respect to Tom and demonstrate that the spirit of his work lives on.
We've teamed up with the guys at Tom of Finland Foundation and created a challenge to get you all back in gear and ready to play once the world has fully reopened. We want you to get your best gear on and take a picture. We want you to embody the essence of Tom's work.
If you click the link below, it will take you to the #TomOfFinland101 gallery. The Foundation has provided a selection of Tom's work to inspire you. As you can see from the gallery, it doesn't have to be leather and you don't have to recreate one of his images – though we'd love it if you did – we just want to see you standing proud in your fetish and kink. After we've posted your picture on social media, we'll be adding it to the gallery, so guys can come check you out, looking your best.
We'll be posting the pics you send daily on our Twitter and Instagram stories, and adding them to the #TomOfFinland101 gallery on Recon. This means, sadly, no visible cock and ass, but the rest is fair game. Send your pic, Recon username and social media handles in an email headed ToF101 to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We've all had a rough year, but there's light at the end of the tunnel, let's get our gear back on and show the world – and Tom of Finland – what fetish men are still made of!
We'll be running the challenge up until Tom's birthday on 8th May, so get your pics in. Once the challenge has ended, the gallery will remain on Recon for all of you to browse.
