Following the momentous disaster that is still taking place in Haiti, we have donated £10,000 GBP to Haiti (via the Disaster Emergency Committee). We are urging our members to donate whatever they can, however little, to this appeal.
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is an umbrella organisation for 13 humanitarian aid agencies and was formed in 1963.
The DEC's remit is to unite agency efforts in times of disaster - such as flood, earthquake or famine - wherever it happens in the world. Their approach is to maximise funds raised and ensure they are spent in an effective and fully accountable way.
We appreciate that we have asked a lot of our members over the last few months by asking you to contribute to different charitable causes, but we are once again asking you to dig deep into your pockets to spare anything, no matter how small.
