We’re pleased to announce we’ve just moved to a new, more reliable internet service provider. The new ISP means that we now have a super-fast reliable service for all our members.
This project completes another phase in our 12 month programme of infrastructure and application improvements, and should help make Recon one of the most reliable internet dating sites you can use.
The new ISP means that we now have a super-fast service with the capacity to grow, and a second connection for ‘failover’. This will mean our overall reliability is improved, and the service is noticeably faster - particularly for our US members.
Unfortunately, we had a slightly longer than advertised downtime – due to minor problems with the final configuration changes at our data centre – but these have now be resolved and we’re pleased to announce the service is now fully functional.
Due to ‘local caching’ members on smaller ISPs may notice that the service takes slightly longer to return – as changes can take up to 24 hours to be mirrored all around the internet. Unfortunately this is beyond our control.
We hope that you feel that our efforts to improve site reliability are worth it, as we seek to build and strengthen the Recon sites for the future.
