The Manchester rubber scene is often described as “the friendliest fetish scene out there” and the highlight of the year is the Manchester Rubber Weekend. We may not have giant circuit parties or huge play mazes, but Manchester does have a vibrant, inclusive gay community and the rubber scene is at the heart of that.
Manchester Rubber Weekend is a non-profit series of events run by a group of friends to connect hundreds of rubber guys (over 500 in 2017!) from all over the world. Last year we had guys from over 24 countries with rubber freaks coming from across Europe, the US, and further afield. And each year we get bigger and better. We’re also incredibly proud to use the Weekend to raise an absolute ton of money for charity – in 2017 we raised nearly £7000 for chemsex and addiction outreach services.
We like to think of the Rubber Weekend as one giant house party, where you catch up with friends you’ve made at other events or meet guys you’ve chatted to for years on Recon.
Expect plenty of drinking, dancing, playing, snogging, shopping, restraining, laughing, and cruising. There’s FOUR main club nights from Friday to Sunday (Darkcell, Alert, Deviant and Slick), bondage areas, a fetish market with some of the UK’s leading rubber retailers, an art exhibition, Pup Pound and of course some crazy frivolity so as not to keep it too serious with Geartunes, prize give-aways and Sisters’ Bingo - all helping to raise money for charity. This year we’ll be raising money for the Si Hands Memorial Fund to support causes he really believed so passionately in.
We’re going to be hugely busy. It’s gonna be seriously crazy. And most of all, full of fun, sweat and play.
