A few months ago we asked you to send in question for Recon's Founder & Managing Director Philip Hamill. We'd like to thank everyone who took the time to send in their questions...we really appreciate it.
Although we were unable to answer every questions we think these answers shed some light on Recon and on what's in store for the remainder of 2013.
Do you plan on doing any events in Australia? (Alex/Melbourne)
We currently have Full Fetish parties in the UK, US, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain and Germany. As you can imagine those keep us pretty busy. That being said Australia is a place we have wanted to do an event in for a long, long time … we just wish it was closer! We will most likely will partner with some established Australian parties in the near future and perhaps eventually hold a Full Fetish. We are looking at this possibility We’ll keep you guys down under posted!
How many people work at Recon? (Max/Boston)
We have 13 hard-working people who are enslaved in our office in London plus 2 more who work remotely from home - one in Vancouver and one in New York.
Is everyone gay? Into fetish? (Parker/ NYC)
We have an incredibly varied staff in all shapes, sizes and colours. We have straight & gay, male & female, Canadian, South African, French, Spanish, American and of course British. We’d rather not speak for our straight(and married) employees but we can assure you that the vast majority of the Gay men are DEFINITELY heavily into fetish or have a very strong appreciation of it. And speaking for myself … I am a total gear freak!
What languages do you plan in future? Is Polish one of them? (David / Krakow)
We would love to have a fuller range of languages available to our members. As much as we love our Polish members (who doesn’t love a sexy Pole?), translating the site into Polish isn’t currently on our list of developments. The next language we are launching, hopefully sometime in 2013, will be German. We’ve already started work on this.
What are your plans for the shop in the US? (Miguel / Los Angeles)
Up until last year, we ran our store from a small set-up in Chicago. We decided to move this to a different warehouse in the US. This is still an ongoing transition. I hope that we can relaunch the Recon Store in North America later in 2013.
Why can’t I see adult photos on the mobile app? (Javier / Barcelona)
We wish we had some control over this but sadly we don’t. Apple has very strict terms regarding adult content. We are looking into developing a mobile version of Recon, which is essentially the Recon website optimized for web browsers on your smart phone. This would then allow you to view all the hot, adult photos (OVER 2,000,000).
Do you plan on doing an Android version? (Richard / Singapore)
This is the number one question that we get asked all the time. The answer is “Absolutely”. We are really keen to get this completed and released as quickly as possible. Like all good things, they take time to complete, and for a small company like ourselves, it is a huge undertaking. The designs for this look awesome and we plan on showing them at our booth at IML in Chicago. We will also be doing a separate News Item on Android sometime in May. We will get it released as soon as we can!
What new features do you have planned? (Tristan / Manchester)
In addition to the German translation and the new funky Android app we have some other surprises in store for you coming later in 2013. We have just launched the new Travel Plans feature which has been well received by our members. It’s something they have been requesting for us to develop for some time. In addition to that we have some every cool cosmetic changes we are making which will improve the Recon experience on all our platforms.
What interest is the most popular (leather, bondage, etc.) (Anthony / London)
This is a good question. In terms of specific fetishes and kinks, the Master&Slave interest is our biggest group with 19% of members. Leather is second with 10%. Most of our members’ interests overlap strongly with other interest groups. You are all very kinky!
Are there more tops or bottoms on Recon? (Simon / Paris)
We have often asked ourselves that same question and just recently asked the Tech Team to get that data for us. I am happy to report that it is a fairly even mix: 23% Active / 30% Bottom / 47% Versatile
