Many of you have already donated, but we need MORE! This year Recon's goal is to try and raise a minimum of £25,000 ($41,000, €27,000) for worldwide AIDS charities on World AIDS Day.
World AIDS Day is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Around fifty million people are living with HIV throughout the world - and that number increases every day.
Together we can stop the spread of HIV and end prejudice.
YOU can help us support the fight against HIV/AIDS:
Purchase a virtual red ribbon for your Recon profile.
This will be displayed on your Recon profile until December 31st 2009.
Recon is supporting World AIDS Day by:
Donating an additional £1 for the first 2,500 Members who buy a virtual red ribbon.
We have also agreed with our card processor that ALL processing fees for this year's campaign will be waived - 100% of your donation will go to the charities.
All donations will be distributed in the same ratio as donations (UK : USA/Canada : Europe) to the following AIDS charities:
UK:
GMFA (Gay Men Fighting AIDS) THT (Terrence Higgins Trust)
USA/CANADA: AMFAR CANFAR
EUROPE: AIDS Action Europe
i.e. USA/Canadian donations will be divided equally between the two USA/Canadian charities, UK donations between the two UK charities, etc.
