What once started out as a group of mates wanting to build some social community amid a fetish world that was often hard to get into, Manchester is readily being described as “the friendliest fetish city out there”.
What Manchester lacks in huge circuit parties and giant play dungeons it more than makes up for with a vibrant, inclusive gay community and the Manchester Rubbermen are proud to keep that at the core part of their events.
Manchester Rubber Weekend is a non-profit charity event aimed at reconnecting with hundreds of rubber guys from all around the world and making new friends from America to Russia and Norway to Italy and in a weekend of celebration of all that take makes us alternative fetish freaks! Last year saw guys from 18 countries and it seems to get bigger and better each year!
Expect plenty of drinking, dancing, playing, shopping, restraining, snogging, laughing and cruising.
There’s three main club nights, (Darkcell on Fri, Alert on Sat and Slick on Sun) bondage areas, Club Alert’s impressive new play cellar, a bigger market, pup pound and of course some frivolity so as not to keep it too serious with brunch, ‘geartunes’ and the Sisters’ Porno Bingo all helping raise money for charity.
This year they hope to beat last year's total and give to charities that specialise in LGBT addiction and mental health services as it’s close to their heart. It’s sure to be a very busy, but intimate weekend full of fun, sweat and play.
